FSIS Issues Public Health Alert for Chicken and Pork Tamales

I don't think we had any of this through the site, but sharing for your own health!

FSIS Issues Public Health Alert for Chicken and Pork Tamales Containing FDA-Regulated Diced Tomatoes in Puree That Have Been Recalled Due to Possible Foreign Matter Contamination

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for ready-to-eat (RTE) chicken and pork tamale products containing Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulated diced tomatoes in puree that have been recalled by the producer, due to concerns that the products may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically hard plastic.

NEW RULE ON SHOPPING - It has been approved that each family will ONLY be allowed to shop 1 time per week. Please make sure to plan accordingly. This starts today!

_____________________________________________________________________________________

VOTING needed here:

We currently pick up Panera on Tuesday and Friday. Due to our scheduling, the Panera from Tuesday often must be given to the pigs as it is a long time from Tuesday to Saturday Distribution. It has been suggested that we see if another gleaner group would like to take on TUESDAY pickup and we keep the Friday pickup.

This is a group decision and we would like to know your opinion. This time is about 2 hours of Volunteer time and late at night pick up. It also has mileage reimbursement of about $8.00. We need you to vote and share your thoughts on this. Please vote by Friday the 20th at 5pm.

Monday Signup - November 16th

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS as we are a MEMBER GROUP and this is your INFORMATION!

____________________________________________________________________________________

Changes to Shopping has been suggested! We have had to turn down shoppers on Monday due to some families shopping 2 times per week. We have only a certain amount of shopping time available with our volunteers. We need help and do not have additional volunteers to add more time to the shopping time. In the past few weeks we have had to turn multiple people down for shopping in the building as well as people have signed up for a box instead of being able to shop for themselves. We would like to limit shopping to 1 time per week. This will allow for members to shop for themselves with the hope of not having to turn folks away from being able to shop for themselves.

We understand that some families enjoy shopping 2 times per week as we have different foods available on different days. We suggest that possibly you do one week on a Saturday and the next on a Monday. We would like to make this a POLICY during covid but it needs to go to a member vote. Please VOTE by Monday (November 16) at 5pm on this change:

Treasurer Report.

Last months report was for what is "budgeted for 2020" for our program. We do have more funds available to our program. Alicia has created the spreadsheet below to make it easier to see where are funds are coming from and what we have available to spend specific to our program.

Restricted Grant Fund = $4000.00 remaining in our Siletz grant funds.

$15,035.75 in our "Gleaner funds to help cover expenses like supplies, mileage, etc"

$8643.19 remaining in our Board designated grant funds. This is the United Way funds that PCS received and gave all funds to the gleaners. We can use these funds on Groceries and Personal hygiene items.

$2000 We are currently waiting for a check from Pacific Power but have a confirmed donation email from them. This grant was written for groceries only.

To the best of my knowledge this is correct. It may not be perfect and has not been audited as this is our gleaner funds. PCS audits our books, this is just our "copy".
