Shopping signup for February 1st and 3rd

**Reminder: No one is allowed to shop more than 10 minutes before the agreed upon shopping time. If there is any question about this, contact whoever is oversees distribution on your shopping day.****

  • Saturday - Please text Jenni M if you need a spot after 9pm Friday

Monday List -

  • Monday - Please text Michelle Finley if you need a spot after 9pm Sunday

Sign up rule: If your time slot is full, please sign up for a later time slot in the day and add a NOTE that says (time slot full). You can also sign up for cleanup shift if the space is open. If all the slots are full after (and cleanup is full), then you can contact Patty for Saturday or Michelle Finley for Monday to get a slot prior to your name slot. We try hard to keep folks in their last name slot for fairness. Also, we do sometimes have to add slots before the shop time or double up in order to make sure every family has an opportunity to shop.

Failure to follow these directions may result in  your name being taken off and you will need to re-schedule. Please keep your personal calendar open for shopping and do not plan events around shopping time if you plan to shop and ask for us to re-schedule you. There are 2 opportunities (days) for you to shop. There are times for many reason Patty and I may ask to move you. Please be mindful we are coordinating over 150 families and just over 450 individuals.

There are also slots for our volunteers to shop mid shopping to make the day smoother and allow for our volunteers to shop the same day. Some of the names will NOT be in the correct space because they are volunteering and pre-scheduled weekly for the slot. If you have suggestions to make this program better, we welcome them.

Please be mindful that you click the proper day below-I made the title link easier (Click the day of the week to get to the sign up).  Please be mindful of signing up that you will actually shop. If you shop on Saturday and skip, do not call with notice, etc you will not be allowed to shop on Monday.

Lastly, Please remember that there it is imperative to keep the shopping schedule accurate, we need shoppers to get through the shopping line without having side conversations. This is to keep the check-ins on-time and the carts in constant rotation. If you want to have conversations with the friendly members, we ask you refrain until the cart is returned.**

PCS Gleaners receiving flag from Senator

 Hello,

Our gleaner group is receiving a flag from Senator Merkely on Saturday.  All Gleaners are invited to the town hall and to watch!

What:  Senator Merkley will be hosting his annual Benton County Town Hall
When: Saturday, February 1st, 3:00 pm
Where: Philomath High School’s Auditorium

At the start of every Town Hall, the Senator highlights an organization that does critical work in the community and presents them with a flag that has been flown over the United States Capitol. He then gives the organization or individual an opportunity to say a few words about the work your organization does.
Gleaners are invited to come and watch the flag presentation, and stay for the Town Hall if desired.

Civil Rights & Serve Safe Test (Free)

 Dear Members,

We are starting a new year and we have 2 things we would like for members to do this month.

1. The civil rights video is REQUIRED! In fact, if you don't listen to the video and put in that you have completed it, you will not be allowed into the drawings on 2/1/25 until you have completed this. This is worth .5 volunteer hours.

This is a new year, so even if you watched this video in December of 2024, it is required in the 2025 year so please watch again.

2.We would like as many gleaners as we can to take the ServeSafe test. This is a free test and is graded by Linn Benton Food Share. This is worth an hour of volunteer time for members. This is NOT required but if you are working with food, we would love for you to have this. Anyone who does store pickups, is in charge for a day or a few hours is REQUIRED to have this or their food handlers card.  This is worth 1 hour of volunteer time

1. Civil Right Video (approximately 22 minutes)
