Scout Lodge Yard Sale June 2024 (Vote Needed)

We would like to know if the membership would like to participate in the Community Non Profit Fundraiser in June? We would not do our gleaners sale but do a community one (better attended). Please vote if you would like for this event to be applied for. 

We would need volunteers to help with this as well when the time comes.

Annual Corvallis Half Marathon Volunteer Opportunity for April 2024

LBFS is looking for volunteers to help us direct runners at the Annual Corvallis Half Marathon.

When: Saturday April 6^th 8:15-11:30.  

LBFS needs 30 volunteers to help cheer on and direct runners along a portion of Walnut BLVD. LBFS hopes to receive Marathon Tee Shirts for our volunteers again this year. Linn Benton Food Share is one of the beneficiaries of the proceeds from the run.

This is an opportunity to volunteer for LBFS and Gleaners. The time you volunteer for this will count towards your volunteer hours for April. This is run by LBFS so you would need to sign up with Susan James at LBFS. Her contact info is below. 

You will be required to write your own volunteer hours down or do it online for this! 

Transportation NOT included. If you intend to drive to this, you will need to fill out a drivers authorization form to release liability while driving your personal vehicle.

Summer EBT Program was approved for Oregon

Members, if you have a child you may want to make sure to sign up for SNAP with the State of Oregon. Oregon has just approved that students receive $40 per month as part of the Summer EBT program. 

Summer EBT benefits will come in the form of pre-loaded cards that families can use to purchase groceries. Beginning in summer 2024, families will receive $40 per eligible child, per month. These benefits work together with other available FNS nutrition assistance programs, such as summer meal sites, SNAP, and WIC, to help ensure kids have consistent access to critical nutrition when school is out.

Food Collection - happening this weekend!

Have unwanted food sitting in your cupboard? Need a little spring cleaning? Wait no more! 

We are collecting food at the site this Saturday and Monday. Bring your food to the gleaners tomorrow and Monday during distribution and drop it off. We will have a container out for collection.
