Due to increased membership size: Members need to text or call Patty on Saturdays and Alicia on 

Mondays 2 hours prior if you need miss a shop time.  If you skip and do not contact us - you MUST 

sign up for a cleanup shift the following week. If you do not contact Patty on a Saturday and skip 

shopping without connecting, you may NOT sign up to shop on Monday. 


Everyone of the members making shopping possible is a volunteering taking time from their lives, 

please be mindful of others time. By skipping your time slot, it makes for a longer time for our volunteers.

Garden Volunteering has CHANGED to SUNDAY

Garden Volunteering has CHANGED to SUNDAY


It is supposed to pour BUCKETS on Saturday so the garden program has decided to move the work party to Sunday from 12 - 2pm. Your hours can count still for April and we will mark your hours as 4/31. Please consider signing up and getting those hours in - and feel good helping out a fellow program at PCS!

Friday Helper Needed 4/29

Patty needs a helper at the site tomorrow (Friday 4/29) from 10 till 2pm. Helper must be able to lift 40#.

Yard Sale Helpers Needed and Information

Sign up to get hours in for the yard sale happening May 7th. We need help setting up and all day on Friday, during the sale on Saturday, plus take down after the sale. This is hopefully going to be a BIG event! Sign up for shifts with the link below!

Gleaner hours - help out in the community garden

Do you need volunteer hours for April? We have a great opportunity for you to get 2 of your 4 hours in at the site. 

Lupe's Community Garden is having a work party on Saturday the 30th from 11-1pm and gleaners are allowed to participate and get gleaner hours. 

Could use help if anyone has a tractor with a front loader and if anyone is skilled making a pallet compost bin.

---- We have a cart that needs to be put together (adding the wheels) and if anyone is also handy and can put together racks, we could have those done too. Please contact PATTY to see about a time to work on those.

Call for HELP - Tuesdays at 2:30pm

We need someone who is able to come every Tuesday at 2:30 and cleanup the totes and clear the tables so the food bank has the space. It should take about 20 - 30 minutes MAX. This is a super easy job - we just need someone who can do this. If this person is you, please contact Patty!

Rummage Sale - May 7th (Saturday) from 9am - 6pm-DONATIONS ACCEPTED

Rummage Sale - May 7th (Saturday) from 9am - 6pm

All funds will be donated to the gleaners. We are taking donations!!!! Please note that items received from gleaners can not be sold so please do not include items you have received at gleaners.

We need people to help with the sale and it can be at 2 or 4 hour sign up slots - Link for volunteering will be coming this week!

We will need help to remove the remainder of all items after the sale and cleanup of anything left on landmarks property. That will be the last shift helpers.

Melissa will be preparing the sale on Friday before the sale and will have signs made and ready for posting early Saturday before 9 am. Donations can be delivered to:

Landmark Realty @ 405 Landmark Dr. in Philomath (Across from the feed store)

Drop off on Friday before 3 pm in order to create the sale for organizing. Please connect with Melissa at 541-829-2835 to connect about what you have and a drop-off time.

If anyone can't bring items, Melissa can pick up items by appointment. She will only be able to pick up items that can fit into my truck , no larger furniture items or heavy items.

Everyone that is donating items needs to send Melissa a text of what types of items will be coming so she has an idea of the space needed.

Grant information 

Current Grants: 

Siletz Grant (food only) from 2021 ($2000 - $614.80 remaining as of 4/12/22 

 

Grants Pending responses:  

Chambers Grant for canning lids and freezer bags 

BCF grant for Transporation coverage and possibly plastic warehouse sheeting 

Siletz Grant due March. Ann submitted this and we are waiting to hear back.  

 

Grants Working on:  

Fred Meyer Community Grant – Alicia is requesting for Toilet paper and Paper towels – it is almost ready to sent out  

Costco Community Grant – this is ready, Alicia has to hand deliver – typically $50 gift card 

Walmart Community Grant – will be able to apply in May 2022 or after 

Bi-Mart Community Grant – Still working on this one

422 Shops for the Month, average pounds per family was 73# each trip. That is an average value of $ 121.31 per shopping trip at 1.67 per pound value. 

 

Old Business 

  • 1000.00 Funds – most requested we purchases the rolling carts. We purchased 3 already for 389.00. They are $105.00 each plus shipping. With $611.00 remaining. Alicia purchased some small clear totes this week $23.94, current amount avail 586.06 as of October Meeting. We then purchased Totes at Bimart for 39.99, the garden cart for 94.00, 10 ten gallon totes to use at GTF for 103.92, an emergency air pump for 39.99, green tire fixer for 8.99, clamps for the nutcracker at 16.58 for a new remaining balance of 282.59 as of 12/14/2021. We voted in December that anything over the $500 for the red cart would be used form the Youngman Funds. The total was 541.23. So, as of 1/31/2022 we have 241.36 left with the Youngman funds to purchase our needs for the program. 4/12/2022 UPDATE, we purchased 10 totes from Bimart earlier this month @ 99.90, so our new total is $141.46. What are any other needs at the site?
