Volunteer hours - Data entry online portal
This is for anyone who doesn't want to write hours down at the site, whom forgot to write hours down, or those who struggle tracking their own hours to make sure they get the 8 hours in. By using the online form below, once you enter your data, it will autofill our form and also send you an email that you did the data entry. You can track your own hours by keeping the emails that you submit.
While I do prefer that most everyone use the paper sign in / sign out at the site, there are a few folks who struggle to remember when they volunteered, so this is for you.
Possibly you are a person who does deliveries, helps out an adoptee, etc .. and forgot to write it down. Please use this form and help me out at the end of the month from having to text you to get your time in or from getting a letter from Alicia and Patty.
This is also great for those who are doing childcare at home and are not at the site to write the hours in.
Also great for if you plain forgot to sign in and out. This form is live now. I will say that if you use this, I will NEED you to enter your monthly hours by the last day of the month. We have a huge list of reports that are required monthly and we have due dates to turn our reports in. These Volunteer Hours are part of it.
If you had multiple family members volunteer at the same time, please do a separate entry per person per shift.

Added a helper for Wednesdays to help our driver do the store runs. We need 1 person to help. Person needs to be able to lift boxes. Will need to arrive NO LATER than 8:30am on Wednesday to work with the driver for the day. This Wednesday is available.

2024 Gleaner Board Member VOTE
Voting for 2023 positions:
As per the gleaners policy, each household will be allowed 1 vote. Members must be members for 3 full months in order to vote. Voting will be open until 5pm on Friday, December 1st. Results will be announced at the meeting at 6:30pm on December 1st.

We are still holding a vote as per the LBFS request. We must have a vote even though we only have 1 person for each volunteer position. Shopping Sign up for November 25th and 27th
READ TODAY : Sign up rule: If your time slot is full, please sign up for a later time slot in the day and add a NOTE that says (time slot full). You can also sign up for cleanup shift if the space is open. If all the slots are full after (and cleanup is full), then you can contact Patty for Saturday or Alicia for Monday to get a slot prior to your name slot. We try hard to keep folks in their last name slot for fairness.
READ TODAY: Failure to follow these directions may result in your name being taken off and you will need to re-schedule. Please keep your personal calendar open for shopping and do not plan events around shopping time if you plan to shop and ask for us to re-schedule you. There are 2 opportunities (days) for you to shop. There are times for many reason Patty and I may ask to move you. Please be mindful we are coordinating over 175 families and just over 520 individuals.
There are also slots for our volunteers to shop mid shopping to make the day smoother and allow for our volunteers to shop the same day. Some of the names will NOT be in the correct space because they are volunteering and pre-scheduled weekly for the slot. If you have suggestions to make this program better, we welcome them.

Friday help needed at Trader Joes. Meet at Trader Joes at 9:15am with your own vehicle. Possibly need to use your vehicle to transport goods from TJ to our site. Plan on at least 1.5 hours of time.

Dollar General Pickup Person (Wednesday / Friday) & Social Media Help needed
We need more helpers!
We need 1 person for 1 hour who can do our Dollar General in Philomath pickup on Wednesday and Friday Mornings @ 10:30am. This is a store pickup so you must have a clean car and able to use your own vehicle. If this is something that interests you - please contact Patty!
We are also looking for an individual who is talented with social media. We currently have a Facebook account but would love to have an Instagram account as well. We would love it if there is someone out there who knows how to do the videos and clips to put music to photo's and post at least 1 time per week. We "think" this will take about 15 minutes per week, but we don't really know. These would be regular gleaner hours. If this takes longer or you find more content time (like coming and taking photo's of what we are doing), that can be adjusted to be what you are putting into the program. We would like for this person to also put in on site hours.

All kitchen size bags are also worth a 1/2 hour of time for "Alternative" Hours up to 2 hours per month.
June's Kid Closet - Open 1 Monday a Month
Hello families,
We have some exciting news!! We are looking for a gleaner to be able to volunteer at the June's Kid Closet 1 Monday per month. The plan is that we will have the closet available and open 12-3 on the last Monday of the month. I would like to have it open longer till 4:30 so even our cleanup crew has the option, but for this month, we will start with 12-3 and see how it goes, if we have a good interest in volunteering, possibly we can be open longer.
Jean Goul (our prior PCS President, and current board member, and professional volunteer) has offered to come and train a few folks on how JKK runs for November. These hours will count as regular gleaner hours as you will be open and helping our program as well as the closet will be open for community members to come as well.

December 18th (as we will be closed Christmas day)

February 26
I would like the volunteers to arrive by 11:45pm for the first time. I need at least 2 but I would be open to having 4 people who can come and we then could do 2 shifts and be open longer. If this is of any interest to you, please send Alicia a text. This job is considered like a pickup, and it is a time you would commit to, train, and be on the trained crew for this. If you can not commit to one Monday per month, please do not inquire.
This would be a perfect job for anyone who can't lift. I do not think there would be any heavy lifting with this volunteer position.

Dear Members of Philomath Community Gleaners
Dear Members of Philomath Community Gleaners,
Recently we had to remove someone from our membership due to stealing from our site. We had video proof that this member had taken items out of the office as well as taking more items off a rack out front then what was specified by the sign that was posted.
The last thing that I want to do is to remove people from our membership, but if someone steals they are stealing from every member of our group.
Please remember that we do have video cameras that we will check if someone is accused of taking extra items. For now on all items must be brought to the scale to be weighed, this will insure that everything is accounted for.
