We have some exciting news!! We are looking for a gleaner to be able to volunteer at the June's Kid Closet 1 Monday per month. The plan is that we will have the closet available and open 12-3 on the last Monday of the month. I would like to have it open longer till 4:30 so even our cleanup crew has the option, but for this month, we will start with 12-3 and see how it goes, if we have a good interest in volunteering, possibly we can be open longer.
Jean Goul (our prior PCS President, and current board member, and professional volunteer) has offered to come and train a few folks on how JKK runs for November. These hours will count as regular gleaner hours as you will be open and helping our program as well as the closet will be open for community members to come as well.
Here are the future dates:
November 27th
December 18th (as we will be closed Christmas day)
January 29th
February 26
I would like the volunteers to arrive by 11:45pm for the first time. I need at least 2 but I would be open to having 4 people who can come and we then could do 2 shifts and be open longer. If this is of any interest to you, please send Alicia a text. This job is considered like a pickup, and it is a time you would commit to, train, and be on the trained crew for this. If you can not commit to one Monday per month, please do not inquire.
This would be a perfect job for anyone who can't lift. I do not think there would be any heavy lifting with this volunteer position.
