Open Questions and Answers  -- What's going well, what’s not?

Patty had 2 items to discuss. 1. She would like to propose we move the meetings to Tuesdays. We have been doing Target almost weekly and it is a full full day for Patty and the team. Tuesdays seem to be quieter and would fit better into volunteers' days. Discussion was had to if we move to the 2nd or 3rd Tuesday. Alicia moved and Jessica 2 to move the monthly meetings to the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Motion passed.

2. Recycling in the container by the sink. Jean says we should only be putting paper and light cardboard in the recycle bins. Not all plastics are recyclable so sticking to just paper and cardboard. Patty will put up a sign for this.

Farmers market – We currently have helpers for now but are always looking to train more folks for backups.

We would like everyone (Every MEMBER) to watch the civil rights video @   https://ofbportals.oregonfoodbank.org/home/trainings/fundamentals/civil_rights   and email Alicia to let her know you have completed the video. Alicia will post this to the blog. You will receive a ½ hour of volunteer time for watching the video.

Alicia reported that the Nutcracker are on the order form for PCS to purchase

REMINDERS:

Patty announced that we are now going to do a mandatory 2-hour volunteer commitment per month. This will free up folks from having to sign up for a cleanup crew and allow more opportunities in the week for volunteering.

We are still in Covid. We (the site) must follow the rules from Oregon Food Bank. So far, they have not changed any of our guidelines. Entry into the building will be with a mask, wash hands, etc. Our protocol will not change. Linda commented that it doesn’t hurt to continue to wear a mask and keep ourselves healthy from other germs as well. Question about showing our vaccine cards and if that will happen. Comment online was that folks don’t need anyone knowing their personal health. Again, we will follow the guidance from the OFB.

Covid – Quarantine activities (please quarantine for 10 days)

  • Casinos & Bars

  • Hospital / ER

  • Out of state Visiting or having out of State Visitors in your home

  • Unmasked activities outside of your bubble

Elaine asked about doing a bake sale in the future to make money for our program. We need to maintain our presence in the community and our past bake sales have been a success. Elaine has reached out to the Rebecca's about the lodge in Philomath and renting it again. Discussion was had but ultimately, we decided to get info as to if we can even rent the lodge before we have further discussions.

Next monthly member meeting will be June 8, 2021

For future follow-up – No new news to report.

  • Cooler Update – PCS is still working on it.

  • Tents Update – PCS is still working on it – although we have 1 on hand. We need to get the cooler covered before we can put up the tents.
