Dear Members,
The board of Philomath Community Gleaners is thankful for the continuous support of all of our members, everyone’s effort has made our group grow in amazing ways. We are moving into our busiest season with gleans, fundraising opportunities, and larger donations, With these opportunities it will mean that we will need more hours to complete all of our required tasks for distribution to continue in a smooth the manner that we have all become accustomed to. As of August 1, 2023, our required hours will move from 7 hours to 8 hours per month for each gleaner household.
We would like to remind everyone that 8 hours is the minimum hours required for members to be in compliance with membership requirements.
Often times we do not have enough volunteers to cover open shifts, and that means the people who have often signed up past the 8-hour requirement are expected to complete extra tasks just to get the job done, We ask that if you have signed up to help and the task you signed up for is completed, please look around and see if there is anything else you could do before you leave, A good example, is on target days look and see if cardboard needs to be broke down, if there is a lot of product that needs to have bar codes marked, just offer to help please. As a reminder, every member must be signed up to volunteer, this includes children. If you have not signed up, please contact Patty or Alicia to see if extra help is needed, this does not apply to cleanup shifts because the more people that jump into help, the quicker we can all go home after a long day.
Together we can continue to be successful in whatever task that comes our way.
Thank you
Your Philomath Gleaners Community Board
